Wright makes it official, commits to West Virginia

West Virginia’s 2019 recruiting class grew a little larger today as wide receiver Winston Wright Jr. (5’9″ 170 lbs) committed to the program. Wright chose the Mountaineers over Boston College and other offers from Duke, Iowa State, UCF and many others.

Wright has blazing speed and has the ability to play all wide receivers positions, but the slot suits him the best. He’s the kind of guy you hunt touches for and try to get him in open space.

As most recruits do, he does need to sharpen some things, but he is not far away from becoming an instant play maker for the Mountaineers. Expect him to see major playing time by his 2nd year on campus, but don’t be surprised if he sees the field some as a true freshman.

“After the visit, I knew the school was for me. I just needed time for my emotions to sink in and talk it over with my family. I love the people, the coaches and I have the chance to come in and contribute early.” Wright told me.

With the amount of hype surrounding the program heading into the 2018 season, DubVNation asked what were some of his goals once he reaches Morgantown. His response, “We’re trying to get to the NATTY!!! It’s going to be an exciting four years.”

It’s pretty safe to say, Wright is ready to hit the ground running and make his way to Morgantown. Wright becomes just the 6th commit of the class and will join fellow wide receiver commit, Deshon Stoudemire.
