Eighth ranked West Virginia hosted 19th ranked Oklahoma State in what was a crucial Big 12 conference game for the Mountaineers. In what was a dominating performance, WVU came away with a 1-0 win in front of their home crowd.
The Mountaineers had 36 shot attempts to Oklahoma State’s seven. 13 of the WVU shot attempts ended up on net while the Cowboys managed only two shots on goal.
The frustration for OSU mounted as the game went on.
The Cowboys racked up 12 fouls on the night choosing to play the Mountaineers very physically while struggling to put any pressure on the WVU back line. West Virginia had no issues keeping the pressure on while having to fight of the physicality of OSU.
WVU took 10 corners on the night.
The Mountaineers lone goal came from senior Defender Amandine Pierre-Louis 17:23 into the game.
West Virginia improves to 9-3 on the season and 3-1 in Big 12 play. They will be back in action on Sunday, October 8th, 2017 at 2pm when they take on the Oklahoma Sooners at home.
