David Sills V Named Biletnikoff Finalist

West Virginia University Wide Receiver David Sills V, was named as a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award. The award is given to the Wide Receiver deemed, “The seasons outstanding receiver, regardless of position, by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc.”

Other finalists for the award are Michael Gallup of Colorado State and James Washington of Oklahoma State University.

Michael Gallup, a senior, of the Colorado State Rams leads the nation with 94 catches for 1,345 yards. Gallup currently has seven touchdown catches.

James Washington, a senior, has 61 catches for 1,317 yards. Washington currently has caught 11 touchdown passes on the season.

WVU’s David Sills V, a junior, has 57 catches for 903 yards. 18 of his 57 catches of the season have come in the end zone. Sills’ 18 touchdown grabs leads the nation by five touchdowns.

Sills is the third Biletnikoff finalist for the Mountaineers program in the last five seasons. He follows in the footsteps of Stedman Bailey in 2012 and Kevin White in 2014. If David Sills V were to win the award, he’d be West Virginia’s first ever Biletnikoff Award winner.

The distinguished pass catching award will be awarded anywhere from 7-9pm on ESPN on December 7th, 2017. ESPN college football analyst Desmond Howard, and former Biletnikoff winner, will do the honors of handing off the award to the 2017 recipient at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
