According to multiple reports, the Mountaineer secondary took a major hit today as safety Kenny Robinson entered the transfer portal. The junior was set to enter 2019 with 20 career starts at free safety and cornerback including twelve at the prior position this past season.

Robinson came to WVU from Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania where he was Pennsylvania 1A First Team All State at Imani Christian. He made his Mountaineer debut as a true freshman in the opening game against Virginia Tech and would make his first career start at cornerback against Delaware State the next week. He would become the starting free safety later in the season and was named Big 12 Honorable Mention.

He would have a breakout campaign as a sophomore in 2018, earning All-Big 12 First Team honors and finishing second on the team in tackles with 77. Robinson was the most experienced returning member of the WVU secondary and was expected to replace Dravon Askew-Henry as the leader of the safety group. It is currently unknown where Robinson intends to complete his collegiate eligibility.
