Bob Huggins to be enshrined into C-USA Hall of Fame

Today, West Virginia head men’s basketball coach Bob Huggins was named in Conference USA’s 2019 Hall of Fame class.

Huggins spent 16 seasons at Cincinnati and had several years of success along the way. He was named the National Coach of the Year in 1997-98 and was a three time C-USA Coach of the year, including being named the conferences Coach of the Decade.

During his time at Cincinnati, he won eight conference championships, led the Bearcats to a Final Four appearance and also developed the nations best player Kenyon Martin.

Martin, too, was named in the 2019 Hall of Fame class. He was the National Consensus Player of the Year in 2000, a two-time All-American and was selected first overall by the New York Knicks in the 2000 NBA Draft.

So, with Huggins being nominated to another Hall of Fame, this certainly makes you wonder when he will get the call into the Naismith Hall of Fame. Many college basketball experts including ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla and Dick Vitale believe he should already be in.

Will this be the year he gets that call?
