On Tuesday, tight end prospect, Sage Ennis announced via Twitter that he received an offer from West Virginia. Calling it a “surprise, yet an honor.”
”When WVU offered me, I was caught by surprise but I was honored that they offered me,” Ennis said. “They have a good team and I think they use their tight ends pretty good. So for me, it would be a good fit.”
Ennis stated to DubVNation that his lead recruiter is Coach Trickett and that they stay in touch throughout the week. Although the two have a good relationship, Ennis states that he hasn’t discussed a visit yet.
“I haven’t discussed any visit dates yet with any coach and I’m not sure of a visit date yet.”
Although WVU offered Ennis, and it caught him by surprise, he is excited at how their offense can score points.
“WVU has a high-powered offense and they are going to score points. I believe this would be a great program to play in.”
Other than holding an offer from WVU, Ennis also holds offers from Miami, N.C. State, Florida State, South Carolina and Central Florida.
Whatever decision Ennis makes, it will be a decision where he feels like he knows the program, the school and the coaches.
