This week DubVNation caught up with class of 2020 linebacker Tirek Austin-Cave of Camden, New Jersey.
When asked about being offered by West Virginia he responded, “My initial reaction by being offered by West Virginia was excitement,” Austin-Cave said. “The day West Virginia offered me, Coach Scott and Coach Brown visited me at my school. When I first met them, it was an instant connection and felt the need to get to campus right away, which is what I did two months later.”
The lead recruiter for Austin-Cave is co-offensive coordinator Chad Scott who he spoke highly of, “I’ve developed a great connection with him from the time he offered me. He also has a great connection with my parents which is a very important factor in deciding where I got to school in the near future.”
Other than holding an offer from West Virginia, he currently holds offers from Maryland, Miami, Syracuse, Pitt and many others. Although he holds many offers, Austin-Cave stated that West Virginia, Syracuse, Miami, Pitt, Nebraska and Rutgers have been recruiting him very hard lately.

As for a visit to West Virginia, Austin-Cave mentioned, “Coach and I have discussed a visit to get down to campus and the visit will most likely be an official visit, due to the fact I’ve seen and felt what everything is about in Morgantown with my family when the team was not in season, which I loved,” he said. “This time I’m trying to get to campus and see how the atmosphere is when school is in and when game time comes.” he added.
Stay tuned to DubVNation for the latest on Austin-Cave’s recruitment.
